Welcome to the Conservation page
Without habitat, we have no ducks. Delta Waterfowl's program was launched in the 1930's to perform scientific
research on waterfowl and ultimately increase waterfowl numbers. The Northern Virginia Chapter of Delta plans to
stick to this mission abroad AND LOCALLY. We will contribute monies to various Delta improvement and management
projects abroad in the breeding grounds to improve the breeding habitat and in turn duck production. Locally, we
plan to do our part by improving waterfowl habit through building and maintaining nesting structures, marsh/river
cleanups, working with State wildlife biologists to improve public hunting lands, and many other projects to come.
Please contact me if you have any Conservation ideas or would like to lend a hand.

Wood
Duck Boxes!!
It's that time of year again! Crappie are starting to bite, Yellow
Perch are running, and Wood Ducks are returning to the Commonwealth.
Delta Waterfowl hosted a wood duck box work day at Leesylvania
State Park Saturday
21 February, 2009. We were able to put up just shy of a dozen wood duck
boxes. Take a look at some of the pictures from the event below!
Please contact Jeff Browning
with any questions, suggestions, or ideas for future projects.

DYKE MARSH CLEANUP
The
National Park Service said that he has never had a group pick up as
much trash as we were able to get. He was extremely happy
with
the way that the event went and looks forward to working with us in the
future. Delta was happpy to help out and we look
forward to the
next cleanup and twice the turnout! Take a few minutes to look at
the pictures below.
