  Virginia Chapter of Delta Waterfowl
We formed the Northern Virginia Chapter of Delta Waterfowl in an effort to preserve and protect the waterfowl, habitat, and gunning opportunities for future generations.   We will work hand in hand with Federal, state, and local representatives as well as other conservation organizations in order to accomplish our goals.

Look forward to working with you,

Mark Crain

Vision:

To secure the future of waterfowl and waterfowl hunting.

Mission:

Delta provides knowledge, leaders and science-based solutions that efficiently conserve waterfowl and secure the future for waterfowl hunting.

Strategic Objectives:

Public Policy:

Most waterfowl breeding habitat is located on privately-owned farmland.

If waterfowl managers hope to improve waterfowl production from the Prairie Pothole Region, they must work closely and cooperatively with private landowners.

Consequently, Delta has intensified its focus on natural resource policies that ultimately shape the prairie landscape upon which waterfowl and other wildlife depend.

In the U.S., Delta played an important role in the recent reauthorization of the Conservation Reserve Program (1996 Farm Bill) and is once again promoting the reauthorization of the 2002 Farm Bill. In Canada, Delta has helped draft legislation allowing Conservation Easements.

Both of these programs provide financial incentives to prairie landowners who voluntarily retain or restore wildlife habitat.
